Yes, it's cool but more of a local lore discussion point

A temporary bridge made of other pieces of bridges is pretty cool - as is the awesome power of mother nature to shift and modify the outer banks at her will. Making this a stop of interest on Trip Advisor seems a bit of a stretch (particularly since it's closed to foot traffic). That said, I do always slow down... More

The boys saw this on their way up the beach and had already seen a lot of similar things by the tine that we got here. If you want to see this, we recommend doing it before you visit a lot of the other places that are available.

Why is this an attraction? Don't blink or you will miss it. The small inlet has water during a storm and helps prevent road damage. An attraction? Not for us.

Beautiful access to beach with lots of information on migratory bird patterns and the nature of the outer banks and shifting sands. Wish there had been more information about the New New Inlet...but a nice place to stop along the highway and take a break.

My wife and our two dogs made a day-trip to the OBX yesterday and went for a nice beach walk just south of the New Inlet temporary bridge. The beach is wide and the sand packed down due to the tides so it is made for strolling. There is a very convienient ocean-side parking area just past the bridge where... More

Couldn't travel to Ocracoke via Hatteras last year due to the hurricane damage - including New Inlet. There's a temporary bridge in place for the time being so, check it out while you can. Highway 12 is open and the ferrys to Ocracoke are running this year. See what nature can do.
