This historic battlefield's history is really presented well. Visitors walk around a multi-stop loop through where the fighting occurred. All along the way there are placards and diagrams explaining what happened. We really enjoyed the experience. The whole area was under about 7 feet of water from the flooding of Hurricane Matthew, so some of the fences and display items... More

It was a nice walk with easy to follow direction along with placards discribing what laid before you, the battlements were easy to see and visualize, the bridge still stands'. Nice piece of history, with visual reenforcements. I would take another trip with family and friends S

I found this place interesting because I enjoy Civil War history. Additionally, it's a great place to walk and enjoy the outdoors. Several years ago, I attended their re-enactment which I also enjoyed. They also have an old barn their information says is used for weddings and other events.

My cousin had her wedding here last weekend and it was wonderful! The only real problem we had was that it had rained so much and it was muddy, but it was absolutely beautiful. Would recommend this spot for a wedding....maybe if it isn't pouring rain.

We stopped by and walked to the few spots that were listed to see...not much of anything other than a nature walk to read some history boards...in my opinion...

You will be able to read about the battle on the different signs and you will see some dirt mounds but that's about all. However, it is a nice, flat walk and we saw several people walking their dogs (please people......pick up after pets). My favorite part was the water/bridge. I would not go out of my way to visit... This is a civil war sight with not a lot to see. A field some small cabins and a few mounds that were built. You will need to imagine the rest! Nice little walk to enjoy and imagine what went on here!

This historic site has free parking close to the trail start/finish. The trail is clearly marked, and well placed markers give details about the battle. They also have a barn that serves as a venue for meetings, weddings, etc. To tour, plan on spending at least an hour or so. It's worth the stop!

Nice, well-kept battlefield. It is small but a lot to see for it's size including where the bridge was (and new one is), the monument and flag, interpretive markers, snake rail fencing and some breastworks. Worth a 30-60 minute visit.
