The trail is absolutely beautiful, both along the way and viewing the waterfalls at the end. It’s a really difficult trip back up, and changes around 600 feet in elevation over 1.3 miles. Would not recommend for families with small children or those who are not used to strenuous hikes.

I read the reviews, and decided to give it a try. I am 60 with moderate degenerative disk decease and was able to make the trip. The root are tiny and easily avoidable. There was one tree across the trail, maybe 16" high, again easily stepped over. The Water Fall is spectacular. It has rained here the last couple days, so it may have been bigger than usual but so beautiful. I will be coming back again to see it in the spring and the fall. My 17 yr old son decided to cross the rocks and get closer look. Fell in, water is quite cold he reports LOL. There is a nice spot for frolicking in the warmer weather shortly before the fall. I am taking my wife and 3 daughters back today. ENJOY

There is little information at the trail head, but know this: the trail to the falls is relatively short, less than a mile, but the change in elevation is extreme, and rocky. I would call this a challenging trail. Walking down to the falls was one thing, but the climb back up to the trailhead was intense. Still, the falls were worth it. Deep pools for swimming and lots of rocks for climbing.

This is not a hike for anyone with little ones, injuries, or not in great health. My 5 year old did it but it was tough coming back his little legs were so tired. The views at the bottom are amazing if you can make the trek! Bring swimming stuff and towel and spend the day! We found a great rock to jump off.

It's a 3/4 mile descent of around 700 feet to hike into the High Falls viewing area--moderate to strenuous at times, but worth the hike in. Views are spectacular and serene, and there are pools to swim in if you're up for cooling off from the hike in. The way out is that same 3/4 mile ascent of around 700 feet, so wear good hiking shoes and travel with water and maybe a snack, too. Worth the effort!
