This is a small museum but the exhibits are very attractively presented; time has been taken here to set out the collections in a meaningful and educational way. No dusty and neglected hodge podge of items here ! Well worth a visit.

The museum is very well done, with interesting artifacts arranged in an attractive, orderly way. As an introduction to the region, it was just about ideal.

First stop as a visitor to Elizabeth City. The Welcome Center is here also. They have many things to do for everyone.

The history of the area is presented in a very well done manner with narrative and items of each period. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking is available, mainly on the street. There is no admission. There was an excellent display about WWI...More

Private tour of the museum by the staff. Lots of stories of the local history. Many of the exhibits done entirely on site.

Not really, regional . However if you are in the area its well worth a stop. Go to the web site to see current exhibit. You may want to visit the cemetery next door.
