We spent time in the museum at Averasboro talking with the staff. While the folks were volunteers , they were very knowledgeable about the battle as well as the battle at Bentonville. The collection at the museum was very good. Well worth the stop

Very well kept cemetery and replicated slave house on property. The museum had many artifacts and great information for Civil War enthusiasts. The last time I visited there was not a museum, so it was great to go again after 20 years.

A group of us were attending a church conference in Dunn, NC, so we decided to sight see around town during our time off. This place was nice, but not much to see, but a lot to learn.

Great place, info, museum...you can roam around many historical markers and enjoy events there. There are books to buy, and kniwkedgeable volunteers to help tell the story of this hostorical battle.

Averasboro was a small battle staged against General Sherman during the Civil War. This is an excellent stop for the history buff and school field trips to learn about Sherman's March and the life of the people it affected.

Not really much to see here. They do have a nice gift shop with a good selection of Civil War items, books etc. Worth an hour or so.
