Fits in to the landscape with beautiful, craftsman details in the stone work. Don't miss the fresco inside: "Suffer the Little Children" that used local people as models. The grey-haired grandma at lower left is a favorite. Part of the North Carolina "fresco trail." Ben Long is the artist. Also, take a look at the wood paneling that's artistically arrayed... More

This chapel is very peaceful and relaxing. I wish that there had been a brochure for us to read more about it.

This is a highly special place. The Spirit can be felt as soon as you step on its ground. I had a wonderful experience praying here, viewing the fresco, and admiring God's great glory. Go here.

This chapel is located on the campus of the Crossnore school in Crossnore. It was built in 1956 out of Riverstone and named in honor of Eustis H Sloop husband of the school founder Mary Martin Sloop. My family has had a vacation home in this area for years, yet I hadn't revisited this part of Crossnore in the longest... More

We stopped here to see Ben Long's fresco as we were travelling to Linville Falls and glad we did. This is the fourth fresco of his we have seen and as with the others it was beautiful and inspiring. The Chapel there is at a school for abused and neglected children and my wife and I were very moved by... More

When you visit the town of Crossnore (near the Blue Ridge Parkway), don't miss the Chapel. The fresco is lovely--it seems alive! Children from the school and adults from the town of Crossnore were used as models for the characters in the frescos. "Suffer the little children to come unto me," is the inspiration for the fresco.

His was the second stop on our fresco tour. The frescos are wonderfully done and very inspiring. The chapel grounds are very beautiful and an American treasure.

We went to Crossnore particularly to view Ben Long's fresco. My daughter is an art major, so we are always interested in seeing art where we can. This did not disappoint. It is a good-size fresco and very well done. My daughter was already familiar with his work, so was excited to be able to study one up close. Be... More

A beautiful work in a nice setting. The Crossnore School is incredible and it is easy to spend a morning or afternoon at the school. The chapel, the art gallery and the very excellent cafe all provide for a pleasurable experience.
