Wow! It was rather expensive. There were so many people mining, it was hectic! I didn't like this very much. The sign says there is a gemologist who would grade your findings. Well, when it was finally my grandsons' turns, all the gemologist seemed to...More

Fun mining for precious stone at Smoky Mtn Gold & Ruby Mine. Tokk grandboys and they had lots of fun and found some neat Ruby, Sapphire and other stones. I might try it myself next time.

This a fun place and can be very worth your time, we found a ruby that was bigger than an English pea! The guy that runs it is a hoot and very helpful.

This is a tourist trap type of business that basically sells you a few dollars worth of minerals or gems for $50. The kids have fun doing it, so if you can afford it - why not. Just reviewed my credit card bill and the...More

Enjoyable time mining and finding lots of quartz, garnet, topaz, amethyst & citrine. Chris was extremely helpful identifying our stones & explaining the process of polishing & setting the gems. We thought it was worth the time & money!
