My friend and I had never done this before, so we just got the cheapest bucket and were able to find numerous gems, even a few emeralds, garnet and a tiny ruby. This activity would be very good to introduce children to geology, and the...More

This a fun place and can be very worth your time, we found a ruby that was bigger than an English pea! The guy that runs it is a hoot and very helpful.

We stopped in because we have been mining before and the kids love it. We spent $14 on dirt. The younger guy operating the mining area was less than enthusiastic to say the least. When we realized we didn't have the first gem we asked...More

Enjoyable time mining and finding lots of quartz, garnet, topaz, amethyst & citrine. Chris was extremely helpful identifying our stones & explaining the process of polishing & setting the gems. We thought it was worth the time & money!

This is something I had never done before, so we stopped here and paid $10 for a whole bucket of dirt to pan for the gold. We didn’t strike big gold, but got some pretty stones out of it.
