Smokemont Riding Stables is located within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park just off US 441, 6 miles north of Cherokee, North Carolina. We offer guided horseback riding trips from one hour to 4 hours long. Each ride is unique and may feature river crossing or waterfall views. We also have a horse drawn wagon ride that goes along the Oconaluftee River on the historic turnpike road.

We did a group 1 hour ride yesterday and it was wonderful! The horses are well cared for and the guides were professional and very informative. I had not been on a horse in 20 years but felt safe and comfortable.

Best ride ever, We went on our 34 anniversary, I have rode at other stables, and this was hands down the best, The guide was awesome, I can't say enough about it, We will definitely be back
