If you want a free children activity then this is your place. They have hands on exhibits, computers, story time and the parents could sit back and watch. This should be the model for all children library's in the country.

I wish we had this when I was growing up in Philly. The kids always enjoy the various activities and the building also includes a Mecklenburg library. Displays are always changing and kids can check out the youth plays.

Take Charlotte's excellent light rail to 7th Street Station, or park in Imaginon's own parking lot, or at 7th Street Station and bring your stub in for validation. The fun begins outside where typewriter keys (OK, keyboard keys!) and a giant picture window invite children...More

It is the commuter train that currently runs from South Charlotte to uptown. The line running North is under construction.

Yes to the 6 and 9 year old kids. The 12 and 16 year olds will probably find it immature. It seems to be most suited to kids under 10. There is a childten's theater there that perhaps all would enjoy if you can catch a... More

Absolutely! I have taken my grandchildren ages 5 - 10 and they have loved it. Taking my two 4 year old grandchildren this summer! Consider taking the Lynx train. It ends at ImaginOn.
