Wonderful place easily able keep our 5 year old occupied for several hours. Story time at 10:30 was excellent, as were the educational computer games. Several interesting things to grab the kids attention and they were able to interact with other children. Nice for moms...More

This place was awesome! The kids had a great time playing educational computer games, playing in the big truck (upstairs) and the train and cars (downstairs). We went here twice in one day because it was near or hotel, indoors (raining), and FREE! FREE and...More

This is a place that has a library, several monitors where kids could play games, sort of puppet theatre where kids can put on a show for other kids, as well as Children Theatre. The most exciting is the TinkerToy exhibit where kids can build...More

My six year old son loved the visit to ImaginOn! The interactive tinker toy exhibit was neat, and kept him busy for half an hour. The reading part of the library was very well designed, with young children's perspectives in mind. We loved how the...More

We stopped by for a quick visit after having lunch at the 7th Street Public Market across the street and were thrilled with the variety of activities available for our girls ages 2 and 3 yrs old.

When I was a kid, the children's library was a partial floor in the main downtown library with small chairs and tables. Oh, how things have changed! From the meant-to-be-played-on sculptures outside the entrance, to the puppet show theater, Tinker Toy section, and art installments...More

If you want a free children activity then this is your place. They have hands on exhibits, computers, story time and the parents could sit back and watch. This should be the model for all children library's in the country.

I wish we had this when I was growing up in Philly. The kids always enjoy the various activities and the building also includes a Mecklenburg library. Displays are always changing and kids can check out the youth plays.

Yes to the 6 and 9 year old kids. The 12 and 16 year olds will probably find it immature. It seems to be most suited to kids under 10. There is a childten's theater there that perhaps all would enjoy if you can catch a... More

Absolutely! I have taken my grandchildren ages 5 - 10 and they have loved it. Taking my two 4 year old grandchildren this summer! Consider taking the Lynx train. It ends at ImaginOn.
