This is a brand-new art museum in center city Charlotte, N.C. I found the museum to be interesting, but with significant limitations for serious lovers of modern art.

The current exhibition of contemporary photography in Mexico was presented in a minimalist way with low lighting that allowed the influence of the winter sun in the galleries to create shadows that present the art on show as a one off experience. Two women were...More

It was a pretty good museum. Not very large at all. The Picasso's were impressive. I'm not a huge fan of modern art, however I found pieces that did interest me. I think that going to an event here would be good. On its own...More

This is a beautiful, but modest, museum. The space is open and airy. The art is really impressive, too. This is well worth visiting if you are looking for art or quiet.

Visited for a free evening with lady friends. A few games introduced throughout the evening activites and open bar to sip and stroll. Music. Lovely evening. Interesting art.

They included Paul Sands’ famous portfolio from the 1930s on one floor, complemented by five Mexican or “American-Mexican” photographers from the last century and some more contemporary....More

I was disappointed not to see all of the Bechtler collection as there was an exhibition loaned by the Bank of America. It was interesting but why not warn visitors on their web site that much of their collection is not on view. The staff...More
