This is a brand-new art museum in center city Charlotte, N.C. I found the museum to be interesting, but with significant limitations for serious lovers of modern art.

This find was a delightful surprise. A Swiss foundation in the heart of Charlotte, seated in a building designed by world famous Swiss architect Botta, a double surprise. The additional treat to the beautiful settings was the infinite display of artist Tinguely sculptures and art....More

This is one of the best modern art museums I have seen, specially in the USA which is not exactly a hotspot for modern and contemporary. The building itself is a piece of art!

This museum is not large but houses many interesting artifacts. The various rooms have great exhibits and there is always someone available if you have any questions.

From the outside the building is quite impressive. The building is impressive inside too but the artwork is underwhelming. There was a sign on the door when I entered that the fourth floor was closed and I was again told this when I got my...More

My daughters and I were thrilled to know that we could see a Picasso and an Andy Warhol within walking distance of our uptown hotel. In addition, there are many other modern pieces to enjoy; the display of the art is well done, as well...More

Some good and interesting pieces, but you can zip through the whole place in about an hour or less. The staff were all very helpful, but I was hoping (more like craving) for more to see. If you have a Bank of America account, or...More

We have been to Bechtler several times. They do not appear to change the exhibits around very often. Beautiful building! Kids love statue outside, wonderful setting! A much need addition to uptown. A must see!

If you ever go to art school you will eventually have the discussion on how to frame a painting. Normally, the frame is to complement the art piece. The Bechtler is about framing the collection, and they have done an outstanding job. I find the...More
