The gardens were small but peaceful. Students took refuge in the many benches and birds loved the luscious landscape. The website was helpful for where to park.

The gardens provide a short, shady stroll on a campus hillside, with a selection of exotic plants in the greenhouses. Keep a look-out for the Spring plant sale (usually in April) - garden staff and volunteers can help you select whatever you might need for...More

It's not huge but it's very interesting and they have some fabulous plants in their greenhouses. Strange and beautiful plants abound in about 6 or 7 sections. It's like being in a jungle, tropical paradise or orchid garden all in one. Good job.

We started out before it was raining but got caught in the rain. It was a fun place to see what they have done. It is in the middle of the campus. The greenhouses were also fascinating and people very friendly to explain things. Also...More

We visited the garden on May 2nd. There are some parking spaces across from the greenhouse. You do have to ask for a permit at the Parking Services. The greenhouse is not comprehensive but still nice to see. The best part is the Susie Harwood...More

Dr. Mellichamp oversees this area on the campus of UNC-Charlotte. It is the same latittude as in Japan so it is heavily influenced in that regard. Have a few minutes on campus and would like to have a quiet minute? Step into the conservatory by...More

At the right time of year, this relatively small greenhouse contains some beautiful plants. But it does not take long to view all the plants grown here. When flowers are not in bloom, there is nothing worth seeing.

We stopped by on a nice day in March. Not what we expected having been to other Botanical Gardens like Atlanta. Basically a path in a gully, Zen like and pretty with a asian garden feel. Good place to start a date. Greenhouses were closed....More

When the gardens are in bloom it is an otherworldly experience to walk through the soft quiet paths. You can stop and sit in serene settings and enjoy the naturalistic, peaceful ambiance. The Asian garden is the newest feature, but I prefer the older parts...More

The Asian Gardens are lovely. The other gardens could use some color and more labeling. Also, if they are watering the plants, expect to get wet, the sprinklers do not avoid the walkways
