We were fortunate enough to enjoy a private pontoon boat ride provided by friends on beautiful Lake Norman. Gorgeous scenery, lovely homes (some spectacular), water like glass (we were lucky).

I have been boating, hiking, and cooking out here. The lake is beautiful and scenic. Great fun for the family and has lots to offer for a day trip. Worth the visit.

A really beautiful lake with dozens of quiet, isolated coves. This is a regional treasure that I was happy to discover as an out-of-stater.

Try Airbnb or VRBO if you are looking to rent a house. If you specifically want something right on the water make sure and specify that in your search. Good luck, and enjoy! It's a beautiful place!

There are no trains or other public transportation from Charlotte to the Lake. It's about 20 miles. You would need to rent a car for flexibility.
