Incredible views of homes on the waters edge. Easy access to all boat ramps. Plenty of marina's for easy service.

Lake Norman State Park is now on my go-to list for mountain biking. There is a pretty impressive system of trails throughout the park and the "beginner" trail has enough challenges to be exciting but not overly dangerous. I can't really comment on any of the other amenities. I've only explored the mountain biking trails. But I'll be back, again... More

Hired a fishing guide and spent the day on Lake Norman. It is a big lake but was unimpressive. For fishing, its ok - very little structure so its crank baits and spoons for the most part. Caught 10 bass, had fun, but its an odd place to fish. The views are nice. Odd how there will be a huge,... More

What else is there to say? There is one restaurant still open on the water, and it has a very nice view. Now if you have a boat to launch, it looks like a great lake.

Our family rented a pontoon boat and spent the day navigating the entire lake. We anchored for awhile so the family could go swimming. We also packed coolers for drinks and food. We had a wonderful time eating, swimming and cruising around Lake Norman... Highly Recommend!

Went there during our family visit to Charlotte, to spend another day with my daughters and grandson. A good walk - nice trails through the park along the shore, amidst the seemingly un-spoiled nature. There is even a small beach where you can sunbathe and have a swim if the day is hot. However, I didn't find the place particularly... More

Overall this is a nice lake. There is a lot of privately owned homes near the lake. I expected it to see more pristine lake and water, not like-side homes and party boats. We found a pleasant park for the kids to play and hike, but it wasn't easy.
