This was a great way to spend a hot, humid summer afternoon while in the Durham area. Their basic exhibits are loaded with amazing photographs and educational facts. The water exhibit is hands-on which children and adults like. The Gross Lab addresses gross things in a humorous and hands-on way. $8.25 for a non-member adult gets you into the gallery... More

I grew up going to the Hayden in NYC...this show was great! I was so excited at the end, tears rolled down my cheeks. The kids' exhibits downstairs are interactive and the Apollo space craft training exhibits are a hoot! We've come a long way, baby. We came here with my 9 year old nephew and he really enjoyed it, especially the hands on germ section. The show was extra but the presentation on Carolina skies was excellent and the presenter did a fantastic job. Well worth a visit if you're in the Chapel Hill area.

We accompanied our daughter, son-in-law and three I/2 year old granddaughter to a special Sesame Street planetarium show and found the display cases very interesting, the show child-friendly and the gift shop well-stocked with science themed items. A very enjoyable visit!

We got a very nice presentation there last year when we visited the UNC campus. Very comfortable, very interesting. If they do public shows I would recommend it!

We walked through the upper and lower level of the planetarium which are free. It was an interesting hour. We did not stay for the show which you do have to pay for, but I heard it was great.

We had a great time there watching puppeteers projected onto the global milky way of stars. The music was wonderful and the story fun. We took our eight year old granddaughter who enjoyed it all!

We had a special evening event at the Planetarium and enjoyed the really enthusiastic presentation by the guide- couldn't help nut be captivated by his interest!

This was a great family experience to learn about navigating the solar system over the Carolina Sky. I enjoyed this show because there was interaction between host and audience.

beautiful historical campus structure housing the facilities for astronaut training in the past. the center draws large groups of school children for education and scientific fun and entertainment. it is a good day trip for the family to include the university visit and local restaurants for a lunch break. children will always remember the visit. the educational programs are continuing... More
