It's quiet. Not a lot of people here in Feb, so you can have a quiet walk. It's clean and well kept, just not very visually interesting. It's very flat, so there isn't any "hiking" just walking.

Took the trail from the Ranger Station. Crisp, sunny Fall day w/ our dog on the leash. Approx. 3+ mile round trip (seems longer!!) but very flat and well marked path. Once we reached the big sand dune (Sugarloaf) , spent lazy moments taking in...More

Average park. Beach access, picnic areas. If I remember right you have to pay to go there. Plenty of parking.

Such a treat seeing fly traps, sundew and pitcher plants in their natural habit! Small visitors center but worth a trip inside. Easy trails with views of native plants, swamps and the cape fear river.

Once again most of the beach shops and restaurants are closed for the season. This has a nice boardwalk area and places to sit. If get sandy there is shower heads to rinse off. This weekend rib fest was being held out here.

We were tent camping on a bicycle trip and this campground was excellent. Good shower and bathroom facilities; picnic table; electric outlet for recharging devices; and very shady. Easy to find and naviigate throught he park.
