This is a free site with historical markers on both sides of the busy highway (look both ways)... the folks on site are extremely knowledgeable and eager to share their knowledge.

Park historian was very informative and helpful. Went beyond the normal standard to give us a comprehensive overview and answer questions. Also, a good film recreating the battle. There are markers with details posted around the battle site, all within easy walking distance. Certainly worth...More

Not what I expected. "The Battle of Alamance" not knowing the history first before I visited was a mistake. If I knew the history, I would have done something else.

All Central NC residents, especially those with long family connections with the area, should be familiar with this story. It is sad that relatively few people have an appreciation for this fascinating, and much neglected gem.
