This is a wonderful play showing the life and times of early America. The outdoor venue is spacious and well put together with good viewing of the stage areas from any location. This is a must see at least once in a lifetime. Make sure to check if it is running as it is a seasonal show.

Great trip to Boone, seeing The Horn in the West outdoor drama. It was very enjoyable with a talented cast who wore great period costumes. All four of us enjoyed it and would recommend this play. We took off the next morning on the Blue Ridge Parkway, taking in the Cone Mansion, Linville Falls, The Orchard at Alta Pass, and... More

This is a must do when in Boone. We did the museum tour before it, led by an enthusiastic guide, which we enjoyed - it was informative and entertaining.Even as a couple of British visitors, we thoroughly enjoyed the play!! The amphitheatre setting is perfect and the cast were professional and told the story very well. The seats are bit... More

This is a nice local play. Lot of history that I did not know about. Sometimes the outside noises (motorcycles) were a distraction. A little long for me.

We did the living history museum before the play, and I highly recommend that for the kids. My kids (6 and 16) loved the living history museum. My little guy had a hard time following the characters in the play, but he really enjoyed it. I loved it!!

I had no idea what to expect but my friends were up for it, so I went along. I thought the tickets were a bit expensive but it turned out to be worth the money. .The actors were very professional and the story held my interest. It was lovely to be outside in the evening with an occasional firefly scooting by!... Went for a Farmers Market that we really enjoyed. We bought some lovely flowers, some amazing bread and had breakfast pizza to eat. I loved walking around the cabins talking with some of the locals as I am not from this area. It was a beautiful place to spend some time at.

Glad you enjoyed walking around the cabins. Please come back and take a complete guided tour of the museum and stay for the outdoor drama at night. (Please note that this is not a review for the outdoor drama Horn in the West) More

This is a great experience for families looking for something different to do in Boone, NC. This long- running summer show is held in an outdoor amphitheater with reserved seating. The show portrays the story of Daniel Boone as a friend to settlers, many still loyal to the British as they are heading West to settle new areas. There is... More
