The rock is interesting, the gift shop well stocked, but you could do it all in 20 minutes and I think we paid $20 for the privilege....

The story behind Blowing Rock is likely to be more interesting than the rock itself, which is really nothing more than an unusual formation that juts out over a cliff. However, it is a very picturesque spot to see mountains. There is a short path,...More

All I can say is you don’t want to miss this beautiful place. We visited on an extremely foggy day, which was still very special. It began to lift as we spent more time there. Lots of places for photo opts and stunning views!

Do not leave the town of Blowing Rock without visiting Blowing Rock itself! What a breathtaking view! It is only minutes from downtown Blowing Rock and worth the visit. Great photography, great views atop the mountain and cliffs.

Yes pets are allowed as long as they are on a leash and you pick up the waste at The Blowing Rock park. As for the Blue Ridge Parkway, pets are also welcomed.

I would plan an hour. It's a beautiful park and a great place to take pictures. The park itself isn't that big. Enjoy the views!
