Currently closed during the daytime hours. Will be open every Friday and Saturday evening beginning November 24 through December 30, 2017, for Tweetsie Christmas. Then we will re-open for daytime operation April 6, 2018. As North Carolina’s original family theme park, Tweetsie Railroad is a unique attraction that allows children and families to explore their imaginations and a whole lot more. Be a cowboy, cowgirl or an engineer. Shop along Main Street, pan for gold, or visit the animals in the Deer Park. Tweetsie has amusement rides for all ages and live entertainment throughout the park. And, of course, hop aboard our historic train for a fun-filled three-mile Wild West journey through the scenic mountains. Located in Blowing Rock, NC.

Great fun, be sure to wear glasses to avoid getting cinders in your eyes. The cars are open sided and not advised to go on rainy days. The only available food are hot dogs, chips, and soda drinks.

This place has been a local tradition since the 1950's and while it's no match for Orlando, it's a great day out with young kids. It offers a real steam engine drawn train, carnival rides, entertainment and food all set amongst the beautiful Appalachian Mountains....More

So this past Saturday was a total deluge of rain in Boone. We had tickets and were dressed for the weather, so we decided to not back out. Not the parks fault for the weather. It did put a damper on the main street performers...More

We visited Tweetsie Railroad as a couple and had fun. We enjoyed the train ride ( I had hoped for more of a view), but it was still fun. This is a fabulous place for anyone with children or grandchildren.

This place is geared for the younger children but I admit, as an adult I still cherished the opportunity to ride on a genuine steam engine train. Our family had a great time! Eat before or after you go. Plan on about 6 hrs there...

This is a great summer vacation destination. You can ride a real steam powered train; complete with --well I don't want to spoil the fun. Nice saloon type restaurant to eat, see a show and relax.

The only comment I have about the use of wheelchairs at the Tweetsie Railroad is that most of the attractions are mostly located on the side of a fairly steep hill. The reason I say this is because I saw people having... More

I agree with all the previous answers. I saw other people using a wheelchair when we were there, but they had help accompanying them so I would suggest the same for you.
