Our family recently visited the historic Cone manor located on the Blue Ridge Parkway a mere 10 minute drive up from Blowing Rock, NC and loved it. The mountain retreat called Flat Top Manor was constructed at the turn of the century by Moses H...More

Walked up to Flat Top Fire Tower from Cone Manor. It's a touch over 2 and a half miles one way, and while all uphill, it's on a bridle path, so the grade is fairly gentle, and footing is no problem. Clouded in while we...More

Hiked the grounds of Moses Come Manor even though the Manor itself was closed. Trails are well kept and marked. Views are fantastic in clear weather.

Moses Cone Park is an incredibly beautiful place located just minutes from the many fine restaurants and lodgings offered in Blowing Rock. Created out of the generosity of Moises Cone , a N.C. industrialist decades ago, the park offers hiking, shopping at the Manor House, and...More

Enjoyed a nice, long hike on a snowy morning. The manor needs some TLC and it was nice to see it worked on while we were there. The manor, during our visit, was a craft center selling local artist crafts. Would have been nice to...More

Stopped in to check this place out while heading to Asheville via the BRP. The house had a very high end gift shop with some beautiful locally made crafts for sale. It would have been nice to tour the house but they were closed for...More

Beautiful views. Don’t go before 10:30 AM when the park rangers open the upstairs for touring. Various craftsman have displays downstairs interesting but over priced unless you find your hearts desire.

lots of knick-knacks, nice and helpful staff. Quaint. Lots of local artists have wares available. From what I saw most of everything was a little too pricey. But it is definitely worth a stop, chat with the staff and mosey around the store.

We went for a walk on the carriage trails and had a great time. The views from the manor were great and the trails were enjoyable for us and our young daughter. Great place to stop when driving the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The quickest is the Deer Park trail. If you take the Maze toward the Apple Barn and then turn left onto Watkin Road you can also get there, but it is much further.

I suggest you contact them directly. I know that in our area of North Carolina there are times in the winter when the Blue Ridge Parkway is closed even though local roads may be open and safe. Sorry but I just don't know... More

I believe the horseback riding was around $300 but only had an all day package which included lunch, photos, and something else. We didn't have that much time to put into it.
