Lovely place for an easy walk in the park

Easy trails and lots of choices from the popular lake near Blowing Rock center to the old mansion up on the hill. Broad trails, easy walks for all levels.

I love this craft shops. Everything is unique and I usually want one of each. Make sure you stop in. Also nice walking trails for those needing a good walk in nature. So beautiful.

Nice place to hike for free. Easy trail system. Allow plenty of time though, it takes a while to get down to the lake.

I wanted to get some good pictures of the kids with the mountains in the background. Couldn't have asked for a better place! Would love to visit again when we have more time to walk around the property more.

Stopped while on BlueRidge parkway road trip. Interesting history - craft center here as well. Can walk carriage roads throughout property. Home is open for yours "during season". Nice views of area from property.

My title says it all. Such a wonderful old estate home with such history. The views are breathtaking. and the mountain crafts are very special. I can't wait to go back someday.

This place is gorgeous. We went in the last week of October and the leaves were blazing with color. I can't wait to go back! Amazing for picture taking.

We visited to fish in an unseasonably warm day in early November. Path is wide, well paved. Fish: saw trout but not biting on our day. Picturesque. Worth a stroll.

We stopped while driving along the Blue Ridge Parkway, viewing the fall colors. This is a historic stop with a nice (but a little price) local craft shop. The home is beautiful with outstanding views of the valley. A interesting historic note is that Moses Cone was the first to add the color blue to denim jeans to help the... More
