We have been to Moses Cone about 5 times in the past year. They just now opened up the upstairs of the mansion so you can look around. Some nice hikes to the lake and cemetery, people rent horses to ride the trails. Get there...More

This was a pleasant surprise for something free to do. Depending upon your level of expectation, it's a great place to stop for some local history, to do some walking in a safe place, and the park is beautiful. It would have been nice to...More

Moses Cohn was an industrialist and philanthropist in Greensboro, NC. He and his family spent their summers at his county estate on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Known as Flat Top Manor, it was built in 1900. It is located in a beautiful National Park which...More

You can spend as little as less than an hour to a good part of the day here. There are lots of trails, craft shopping and just sitting in the porch rocking chairs enjoying the view. It's definitely worth the time to visit.

This old home of Cone Family is absolutely Beautiful ! Amazing to read the history of this home and how cheap it was to build back in that era. Amazing to see it and the grounds. And there is a neat local crafters shop there...More

This was our second visit, and there is a lot of reconstruction going on to the house. The gift shop has been reduced in space, so there was not as much to look at this year. It is a nice stop off the Blue Ridge...More

The home is open for self guided tours in the afternoons a few days a week. Contact the park rangers office for days and hours. We were a bit disappointed that there was little to no furniture in the rooms, but the story of the...More

The quickest is the Deer Park trail. If you take the Maze toward the Apple Barn and then turn left onto Watkin Road you can also get there, but it is much further.

I suggest you contact them directly. I know that in our area of North Carolina there are times in the winter when the Blue Ridge Parkway is closed even though local roads may be open and safe. Sorry but I just don't know... More
