Summer-time visits are the highlight for the family to enjoy all that Beech has to offer. Multiple lodges and cabins dot the landscape and highlighted by old-time General Stores and eateries. The lift was open (Jul 2017) and a neat ride up to the mountain...More

Stayed the weekend in Beech Mountain and had lots of choices how to spend our time. Hiking, swimming, ski lift, wineries, restaurants, etc. Something for all ages. Close to other small towns for additional activities.

A little background: My kids have skied and snowboarded 6 years. They are not experts, but they are definitely not novices. They are comfortable on the blues in Colorado and can handle moguls and going through the trees. This is our experience on a holiday...More

This mountain is not an expert hill. It is not run by a huge company and at just over 5,500 elevation, it is reliant on Mother Nature to cooperate and provide amazing snow and beautiful weather. It does crack me up to read some reviews...More

We went to Beech Mountain for the last weekend of snow and had a blast! It is a fun mountain despite being somewhat small and not having all the runs open. If you really are just in it for the fun with friends it's great...More

We go to the area during the summer or fall, so I don't know what the skiing is like. It is nice to drive the windy steep road and see the scenery. There is a nice store at the top with nice people to talk...More

We should have been tipped off at the ticket counter; the young lady selling lift tickets couldn't offer basic information about the different types of tickets, and worse, didn't seem interested in selling our family of five anything. In fact, everyone we encountered seemed to...More

I would like to add that even for all the festivals we've driven by, while crowded, none looked "uncomfortably" crowded.

The course on Beech is very nice: beechmountainclub. org/ There's also one at Sugar Mountain, easily found online. Either is great to check out, of course more so in the warmer months.
