Love grave yards

Very interesting. I really liked that there was information provided regarding several of the grave sites. Those sites were numbered and easy to find.

The Old Burying Ground is really fascinating. If you love history (and you know we do!), don't miss a visit to this cemetery when you are in Beaufort! There are maps of the cemetery at the gate -- be sure to pick one up! Many of the graves are numbered and the corresponding numbers on the map provide fascinating details... More

If you are looking for a great way to spend an hour or two for FREE go to the Old Burying ground. It is self guided and offers interesting historical stories for some of those who are buried here. It is an old graveyard with interesting vegetation and trees--a great place for photographers as well. If you are a history... More

Good place to visit to learn some unique history of the area and of certain people buried here. Pamphlet that you could pick up gave interesting information. You must see the girl in the rum barrel.

This cemetery is a must see in my opinion as it provides historical perspective. A walk through the cemetery is markedly enhanced by the pamphlets which can be obtained at the cemetery entrance. Although I visited on a slightly cool day, I can only imagine that this site would provide welcome relief from the sun during the summer. Caution is... More

Visited on a Sunday with church in session next door. Congregation members were voluntarily offering advise and directions on the entrance to the burial site. By the way, the gate is on Ann Street, beside the Methodist Church. Very interesting place. Old tombstones. An excellent walking guide available to the right as you enter the gate, but unfortunately for the... More

This cemetery located on Ann St. next to the Methodist Church is a must visit. Graves dating back to pre- revolutionary days presents an historical snapshot of early Beaufort. You will go home with some amazing and touching stories.

Would recommend a trip to the burying ground to anyone visiting Beaufort. There are pamphlets at the grounds so as you walk around you can read about some of the graves.

The town and country's history is before you as you walk through this beautiful site. A nice quiet, shaded, break.

If you are going to Beaufort, this is one Historic place you should def stop by. It's one of those historic sites that Beaufort is known for and it's a great place to check off your list if you are a history buff. I love reading old tombstones, the history is so cool and this place as plenty of it.
