Very nice way to spend a few hours with the added attraction of artifacts from Blackbeard's Queen Anne's Revenge. It was thought to have been deliberately run a ground and the booty carried off. Located in 1996, almost 300 years later, there are artifacts being...More

Excellent museum for young and old and in between. From relics of Queen Anne's Revenge to a REAL whale skeleton to an excellent maritime library to a trip through time to the early days of coastal North Carolina. This is the place.

Nice place, well though out. Did not know Blackbeard's ship wreck was local. Nice displays of Maritime items, well made replicated small ships and tiny items found from the wreckage. Free and worth the walk through. Enjoy

This wasn’t on our agenda, but I was visiting my brother and his friend and they took us here before we went to the Seafood Festival in Morehead City. What a fantastic and interesting place packed in a small building!!! So glad we went here....More

A very well presented story of the "Wild Pirate's" wild ways and his Queen Anne's adventures. Great for young and old alike. Volunteers are available to add explanations and details, a very worthwhile outing.

This museum might be small but it is packed with some great exhibits, particularly the one on pirates. Amazing it is free too, but they gladly accept donations. This is an excellent way to spend a few hour on a rainy day.

We visited and watch the film on Black Beard. The location is free and an amazing find. Seeing some of the artifacts was an astonishing feat.

Great exhibits of coastal history including skiffs, sport fishing yachts, sail boats, motors, beach rescue, fish and even a whale. Lots of Blackbeard & pirate info for young and old. Really enjoyed the boat shop across the street from the main museum where they build,...More

The exhibits were very nice. There was a group of children that came in at the time we were there and it was fun watching them do a scavenger hunt with the clipboard and clues provided by the museum.

It's a small indoor museum, I did not see any dogs when we were there. I'm thinking it would not be appropriate to bring dogs in.
