Very poor experience compared to other trout catching experiences in North Carolina. The three ponds were very shallow and you could count the trout left in each of the smaller ponds with UV sunglasses. The fish had 0 interest in biting, which some days is...More
Went there with about 10 family member, ages 7 - 55, for the 4th of July. So much fun a making it a game to see who caught the first and last trout. Sad to say, I caught the last one. But we were able...More
Caught one fish that cost us $37.00. Very expensive. While we were fishing a man with a beer came over and was cussing and trying to hit on my wife. He said he worked there, but I didn't see him doing any work. We will...More

People is friendly and water cristal clear, my daughter had fun, later we grilled the fish but at 6.95 per pound and an extra fee for cleaning the fish, two fish came up to 29.00 dollars. Most expensive fish we ever ate.
This was a highlight of our Banner Elk/Boone vacation. We stayed at Grandfather Campground and saw the pond right next door, decided we would give it a try. It was not too crowded when we stopped in, just a few families having a good time...More

The staff are friendly and very helpful. Some might say they have a different sense of humor. I remember asking about the price and the owner joked and said it was double. So when I wine to pay I said I found a 50% off coupon online. His jaw dropped was speechless. Then I said I was just joking. We laughed and he said it got him. They are good people and the food is good. Wish their pond was a little bigger though. Neat experience.
They provide everything. You fish with a rod and reel and they give you worms for bait. There are different ponds for different size fish. You pay for the fish you catch by the pound. The kids would love it.
