Is it possible to give them less than one star? These people are not serious. What a disappointment. We were a group of 10 (4 adults and 6 kids). Made our reservation the day before and gave them our credit information. We were all set for the next day (WE THOUGHT). They told us to call before our scheduled rides... More

We chose this place even though the review were not that high. When we called we were offered different schedules available and the man who answered the phone was pleasant. He even gave us the forecast and said there might be a chance of getting rained out. Which did happen, and when we talked to them on the phone after... More

The Staff included 2 adults and 1 teenager. It was dirty and ranch was not maintained The claim to have 40 horses. The ride was very slow on a very narrow and VERY ROCKY path and returning on same path. Not worth the $40 for 40 minutes.

My family has relied on trip advisor for years and I have never written a review. Because some bad reviews of Banner Elk Stables almost caused us to skip it, I had to weigh in. I grew up riding on a cattle farm in southern Ohio. Here's the bottom line. Banner elk stables has typical horse people and they will... More

I took myself and 3 girls in the family (ranging in age from 12 to 23) to ride at the stables. No one actually greets you as stated in the other review, but even when they want you to pay there was no friendly Hello, or How are you doing. It was also a little strange that they gave you... More

Nice owners, and horses. Cats and dogs are both friendly. It is a stable so its not all pretty. But the animals seemed happy. The trail is nice and our guide stopped so we could take pictures. Horses were friendly and a gentle ride.

We went to the stables recently with our family of 10 for a family reunion. Mike is the guy who you deal with to schedule things and even though he was pretty gruff on the phone and a bit gruff in person, he was really careful and considerate with the small kids in our group. We had a 4 year... More

Nobody greeted us when we went into the office (for at least 10 minutes), they never told us where to go, ride started 40 minutes late and only lasted about 40 minutes. The Views were not great and the only person who was even slightly friendly was our "trail guide". The farm has junk everywhere. I highly recommend going some... More

stumbled upon this stable on the way to the Banner Elk winery a 1/2 mile further...without reservations, they accommodated us nicely and saddled us up for a "extremely novice" horseback ride, but well worth our time and thoroughly enjoyed it...

My boyfriend planned a ride for us at this barn while we were taking a vacation in the mountains. This is a true farm- dogs and cats everywhere, happy horses munching on hay, kids helping out adults and learning the ropes. As far as customer service is concerned, they saved our ride, even after they had cancelled other groups due... More
