Quintessential lighthouse

This is a great lighthouse to aim for on your bikes heading up Thomson Bay from the jetty and overlooking the beautiful, and rather wind swept, Pinky Beach.

While you cannot enter this lighthouse, it is one of the best vantage points to capture a sunset photo. Set up your tripod on the step declining to the beach and take a time lapse sunset video. You'll want to invest about half an hour to get it from start to finish (dark).

Went there for a sunset one night. It was very nice and got an almost surreal twilight there with the moon and the setting sun.

Even though we did not go all the way to the top of the lighthouse, the views are amazing even from ground level and certainly worth a walk up the hill. Take your camera!

Easy walk up stairs to the lighthouse base from Pinkys beach. Its a functional lighthouse so you can actually go inside. Many people have left locked padlocks along the railing wires, maybe this is to lock up their memory of such a lovely spot. Worth sitting up there in an evening to watch the sun set.

The Bathurst Lighthouse, or as the locals call it, the "Little Lighthouse", sits on wild rocks on the north-east side of the Island, on Bathurst Point. It is one of two lighthouses on Rottnest Island, the other being Wadjemup Lighthouse (or the "Big Lighthouse") at the West End of the Island. Beside it is the Lighthouse Keepers Cottage, a beautiful... More

This lighthouse is the typical Rottnest Island picture. It's very close to the Thompson Bay Jetty, where the ferry drops you off. It's on the way if you're walking to the basin. I think a picture in the lighthouse is a must

Riding a bike up the hills was well worth it for this vantage point. We felt like the only people in world up there. Stunning!

Bathurst Lighthouse has an amazing view towards the mainland, across to the Basin and inland of the island. There is a lovely wooden staircase coming up from Pinky's Beach, and we love to sit there and chat and watch the setting sun with some nibbles and a drink. Night time its even more spectacular, walking towards it, with the stars... More
