This former pastoral station homestead is now part of national park. The cultural heritage delivers a strong message of how harsh life must have been on a sheep station. But, there was a little luxury in the form of a hot tub fed from an artesian bore (underground water supply that comes to the surface naturally). Nice place to relax.

A 4 x 4 is needed for this journey. Whole place is amazing. Great swimming spots, places to snorkel, places to take photos and just an amazing place to see.

We visited in a 2WD car. No problems but road a bit sandy in places. We could only go to the old sheep station. Well worth a visit. The hot tub at 40deg was to hot for us.

Not exactly what I expected but extremely worth the effort! We expected more of a coastal drive, but most of the 40kms from the entrance to the top were not overly scenic. Persist though as once you reach the top, the view is incredible! Cape Peron has the most beautiful colours it is like an oil painting come to life.... More

We had intended to camp at the Big lagoon but it was closed, having a 4WD we decided to visit the park anyway. As you reach the entry point to the park at the Homestead, you’ll find 2 compressed air de/inflation tyre points. We reduced our tyre pressures to 20psi. The tracks are generally compacted red sand with some corrugations... More

Really really great Nationalpark. They want a 12$entry fee. There is also a AIR fuel station at the beginning to let down the pressure of the tires. The streets are very sandy. Especially at the end. ONLY 4WD Nice tracks. Take your time
