Wonderful insight into how our forefathers managed some difficult and harsh living conditions. A picturesque portion of a rugged coastline this spot is well worth getting off the beaton track.

This is a must see if you are visiting Cape Naturaliste National Park. Very close to the Cape Leeuwenhoek lighthouse. The water wheel is 80% covered by mineral deposits. Beautiful rocky coastline make this a pretty picture stop.

Its a decent piece of history and the calcification is interesting. Worth a look if you are at cape leeuwin anyway, though I wouldn't expect many to come specifically for it.

Great to photograph (and get splashed by) and in a beautiful beach setting for landscape shots. I love the orange rocks and sea spray!

Not far past the lighthouse is this little gem. We had no idea it existed until we followed the sign from the lighthouse. An information board details its significance in days gone by.

An interesting part of local history that is gradually converting to a limestone facsimilke of its once useful function

Visited the wheel today whilst in the area after not seeing it say for a good 10 years. The overall area is a lot more beautiful than I remember and it was a very photogenic day, all my photos were amazing!
