This villa was owned by a physician who relocated to Anacapri. The house itself is unremarkable and has some furniture but the small terraced garden is really quite pleasant. When we visited there were forsythias, wisterias, tulips, camellias, etc. The view of the coastline is also nice but it can be enjoyed on the public walkway below.

Villa San Michele was a delightful surprise for my husband, 17 year old daughter, and myself. We don't normally enjoy historical homes but this one caught our eye and sort of reminded us of Hearst Castle in San Simeon, California - which is another one that we have truly enjoyed visiting. Villa San Michele is an easy and pretty walk... More

This is a well curated collection from a Swedish doctor. Roman remains are built in. The gardens are gorgeous and have fantastic views. A little oasis of calm in a busy town (mind you, we went on a morning in April, can't say of it would be the same in high season).

We spent quite a bit of time here, looking through the rooms and learning about the history. The gardens are absolutely gorgeous and great photo ops. Views of the ocean are amazing!!

Every single object in this villa is quite stunning. Visiting from one room to the other gives you a feeling of beauty, peacefulness and refinement. The gardens are also beautiful. A place not to miss

A beautiful location set on the very top of Anacapri at the start of the Phoenician steps or Scale Fenice. The views are stunning from the terrace. The Swedish Doctor, Philanthrapist and Humanitarian Axel Munthe was indeed an extremely interesting gentleman, and who I am now interested to read more about. The house is an incredible testament to his incredible... More
