Very nice
Jul 2017 • Family
Nice little gem hidden at the end of a very winding road. Come prepared with beach equipment and to walk 800 meters from the parking lot to the beach and you will be received by this beach place.

Beautiful little bay
Jun 2017 • Couples
One of the most memorable beaches of our 12-day coastal trip. It is only about 7km from Piana, but the road is extremely steep and therefore uncomfortable to drive.

Walk from the parking lot to the beach is probably around 700 m (a rough estimate) or 10 minutes. The path is rocky, sandals are fine, but could be dangerous on some spots if one is not cautious.

The bay allows for view on deep blue water, and oftentimes ships and yachts. Sitting next to the many rocks is a nice change from some other beaches in Corsica. There is no sand, but relatively sizeable stones on the beach.

There is no toilet, and an existing Café/Restaurant was not operated this June 2017.

In June, the beach was not crowded. It is quite small, and could be overly crowded in summer.

I have never felt so much fear to visit a beach before. You have to drive in a very dangerous road, full of curves, but the view is unforgettable!

Grilled lobster with a view over the Med... things could be worse
Oct 2014 • Couples
Only an hour's drive from Ajaccio, this village gazes down over the Med while seated on a headland 450 m above sea level. The village has a delightful cache of traditional Corsican architecture with stone-built houses laid out in terraced rings, and shady squares with fountains. Add to the mix an immaculate white baroque church with its thrusting bell tower, its cobbled-lanes and its easy to see why it has earned its high praise.
In fact, no one disputes its ranking as "the most beautiful village in the world". If there are two things we liked taking away from Piana was fossicking for driftwood on this wonderful beach and later purchasing an object made out of driftwood found on the beach, worn smooth by wind and sea. The second thing we loved was products from Angelo's butcher shop who specialises in products from the Corsican wild pig. The liver sausage needs a hyme written about it, and the meat-balls of dried cheek were savoured slowly on a rocky ledge overlooking the town.
Sheltered between towering rocks and protected from the wind, the tiny pebbled beach opens to the turquoise sea overlooking a series of remarkable carvings by nature resulting in surprising shapes.
the local fishermen bring in an abundance of fish which the local cooks turn into memorable meals. Grilled lobster with a view over the creek.... there could be worse things in life, agreed?
Its lovely to return to Plage de Ficajola just to look at the boulders wearing a palette of hues, ranging from red to orange to pink.
