While the view and scenery are stunning, the hotel itself is average. Price is very high for the amenities. The welcome is average and staff is super picky when it comes to get towels for the swimming pool, you have to sign in and out at the reception not super close to the pool ...
A little disappointed especially for such a high price.

This is an amazing walk

About a couple of hours from the car park to the Tower. It`s a fairly demanding walk, with some climbing and rock scrambling, but the views are tremendous on a fine day

Stunning 360 degree views
Sep 2018 • Couples
Free parking with a well marked route. Their is a cafe at the car park but it doesn't sell coffee, it does serve chilled drinks which is well needed after the route. Takes about an 1hour and 30 minutes which starts off down and then climbs up at the end. Some interesting ruins along the way and great coastal views. Climb is steep at the end and little shade so can get exhausting.. Make sure to take plenty of water and better to start early and avoid heat of the day. Views from the top are absolutely stunning. Be sure to climb all the way to top of the tower. Highlight of our trip. Breathtaking. But a long walk back in 30 degree heat left us very hot and exhausted, dehydrated. We went to local beach afterwards to cool off.

Very cool trip. We started at Piana and did all the way to capo rosso and back. Nice walk and great view. Just take enough a
water, beacuase it can get ver hot. Also the climbing to the tower is quite steep, but well doable.

3hr AR walk at a good pace for a 360 degrees view of the ocean and the mountains. Not the typical walk up an then easy return, but the contrary were you will work to get back in the sun, must be pretty hot in the summer

Outstanding views entire hike near Piana
Sep 2016 • Friends
This is a 4 1/2 hour+ investment, a difficult but not strenuous hike. 1:45 hr. hike in, 30 min at the outstanding tower, 2:15 hr. hike out. But, this hike has the best views of any hike I have taken, and I've been a casual hiker for 40 years. Usually you hike and get the reward of a great view; with this hike, you have great views: the huge ocean, mountains on the horizon, crashing water, the entire time. Must have good shoes and lots (add 2x) of water, especially if it is hot. You could pair this with an afternoon at Plage d'Arone, just 10 min down the street.

Very nice walk, demanding a little... with a fantastic view waiting at the end
Sep 2015 • Couples
Our decision to walk this trail is one of our best decision made in Corsica. This once was just perfect for me. First, you walk an easy trail in the maquis (small brush) and you even go down a little. You have to stop to take the time to look at the sea shores down below. You have to stop because when you walk, you have to look where you put your feet, the are lots of rocks, big and small ones, you have to plan where to put your feet on each step! After 45 minutes or so, you start climbing Capo Rosso. The walk demands to be in good shape and do not forget to bring water too! near the top, the trail is no longer evident and visible as you are only on rocks but rest assured, some pile of rocks makes it easy to follow the trail. Once on top, one more thing to do, get in the 'genoise' tour and get to the top of it (steep stairs). There you go, you made it! the 360° view is breathtaking. the sea, the porto gulf, the Piana rocks! just very nice! If you get there in the late afternoon, the colours of the Scandella mountains is just beautiful. The way down is easier, of course, although you have to pay attention not to hurt yourself, there are lots of uneasy rocks to walk by!

Fabulous 360° views from the Genuese tower, well worth the effort!
Jul 2015 • Family
Starting point of the hike can not be missed, with plenty of parking opportunity. You can see the Capo Rosso and the Genuese tower already from there. The first part of the hike leads downwards, with nice views of the bay and some creeks. Then the trail starts to climb. The path is not difficult yet is fully exposed to the south so it gets hot, very hot. After about 300m height meters you reach the beautiful Genuese tower. You can go inside and up to the roof. The 360 degrees views from the are fabulous!

Only downside of this hike is that the way back follows the same trail. But the return trip goes faster. The full hike took somewhat less than 4 hours including a 30 min stop at the tower.

Highly recommended hike. Try to start early to avoid the mid day high temperatures. Take plenty of water (at least 1.5 L pp) and wear decent walking shoes.
