Ok for a brief drive by...

Not much to see, other than a historical marker which provides a brief understanding of the lighthouse's history.

We drove the 30 min from Rehoboth and when we got there the gate was padlocked. The lighthouse is near a trailer park on a residential street. There's really nothing to see. The website said it was open until 2pm on Saturday, but clearly it was not.

This is not the cape may lighthouse, but it was easy to find, and even though it was not staffed and open when we were there there were signs that told us about the light and the state border. We stopped right on the street for a quick visit and no one chased us away or complained. We enjoyed our... More

The Fenwick Lighthouse is nice spot, you can learn some historic information about it, and about Fenwick Island also. You can go inside the Lighthouse, but not to the top I guess.

I drove quite a distance to tour the lighthouse last Saturday, only to find the lighthouse closed. Several other people arrived while I was there who were also expecting to tour the lighthouse. The sign in the gate reaffirmed that I was there at the correct time. This is very unprofessional.

We went to see the lighthouse during the hours listed both on the website and the sign at the site but it was closed. It's too bad because we had a group of 12 and most probably would have made at least a small donation. I understand it is run by volunteers but if you are trying to raise money,... More

Don't bother going and if you do, might not get in anyway. Web site gave hours as 10am to 2pm. Closed at noon when we arrived.

We stopped by for a quick look-see, and liked it a lot for the enthusiasm of the guide, and just a good feel to the place. You cannot go up (state prohibits), but you can look around. It was free, and informative for what it is. The hours of operation are short, weekend mornings are your best bet to stop... More

This lighthouse is located in the midst of a residential area. It's cordoned off by fencing around the perimeter, so you can only view it from the outside. Nice for photos, but that's about it. Nothing special.

So you can't walk the whole way up, and the place has insanely limited visitation hours, but it's still fun to see and soak up considering it's neat history. Those things said, I would not go more than half an hour out of my way to visit it, just considering how quick the tour able parts were. Impressive nonetheless.
