There are excellent wines at every mile. Pick a lake and take your time exploring the many different wines now produced in this lovely region.

We took a three day tour. Watkins Glen is a sweet little town sprinkled with B&B's. We decided to wineries one day and breweries the next. Watkins Glen raceway was also a blast. You can watch car organizations race for free and take own car...More

This weekend was my first time on a wine trail & I loved it here around Seneca Lake. We started off at Torrey Ridge Winery & they were great. Besides being a bit chilly I enjoyed all the different wineries & new food samples of...More

There are dozens and dozens of vineyards to choose from! Makes for a great time, with friends, on your own, for a special occasion. Love this wine trail. Many others are closer to me, but this where we always go!

Of the wine trails, we felt this was the best in the Finger Lakes. Both sides of the lake have numerous places to stop and enjoy. Each winery offers its own take on the wines of the region and we found each employee knew the...More

This is a family run business. The owner is very knowledgeable and helpful. My wife cannot tolerate the tannin and sulfite. The wines from Silver Spring are the only wines that she is able to drink without health issues.

Love the New York Finger Lakes regions and wineries. But every time we go they are busier and more crowded. Guess you can't have it both ways!

We're glad you enjoyed yourself on your recent visit, and hope that next time you might be able to visit in deep winter: the Trail is much quieter that time of year. But regardless, hope you come back to visit again soon!

The wine trail runs both sides of our beautiful and very long lake. The idea is to visit the many wineries, breweries and distilleries along the way. Many offer free tastings and tours while others provide tastings for a small fee. As you can imagine...More

We agree that when sampling at many wineries, it is ideal to have a designated driver, whether a friend/family member that doesn't mind not sampling wine, or a paid service, many of which are listed on our website. As a local who travels all regional...More

We are planning a trip to the Seneca Lake area at the end of April. We were thinking we might take one of the wine tours so we wouldn't have to drive but that would limit us to what wineries to visit. Question - Would the wineries allow my wife and I to share tastings ? This would allow us to visit more wineries and not worry about drinking to much , it may save us a few dollars and we wouldn't have to be on a strict schedule and just see the wineries they pick out. Thoughts and suggestions ?

We only asked at one and they were ok with it, but as with most things it would vary with the winery's policy. Regarding the commenter that said most give a free tasting with purchase, maybe we chose the wrong ones, but we... More

I'm planning a wine tour for a group of 12. How long would allocate at each winery? We are a social group in our late 30s but not obnoxious or boisterous.

That is a great question, and there is no universally accurate answer: time of year, day of the week you're visiting, and a host of other factors play into this. Probably 30-45 minutes per winery is a good estimate. Visit... More

Would like to stop at maybe three wineries on our drive around Seneca Lake. If we limit our winery stops to about three, which ones are the most scenic? Don't care for sweet wines. Also, is which side of lake would be more scenic to drive north, and which side for driving south? Will it take a full day?
