Our guide ( Juma) was very knowledgable and willing to share personal stories as well which was good for us, always interested in how the locals live.

For first timers it might be a good idea to do a spice tour. The guides are friendly and knowledgeable and always making something out of the leaves eg hats, bags, ties, etc. But I think one could spend your hard earned cash much better.

Enjoyed the Spice Tour. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable and we learned a lot about spices and how they grow. Loved the fruit tasting at the end of the tour! Don't want to miss this attraction if you are in Zanzibar!

I'm glad that we went... but I regret how many souvenirs we bought. You'll learn a lot including some fun little facts and interesting tips BUT you'll be expected to tip several people. Just a note- we didn't see the fragrances that we bought back in town but we did find the same soaps and spices for much cheaper. Even... More

An interesting historical tour to go on given Zanzibar's rich history with spices. The tour guides made the tour interesting despite the stifling heat, and we got to taste test various goods along the way.
