This Museum was founded 121 years ago.. but the current building, [designed by the World Famous architect I M Pei] was built about 61 years ago. The building [which is also centrally located] is also a "Work of Art" as its facades are often used...More

I've just spent over an hour in the museum and enjoyed it very much. The Visions of America and Darryl Hughto exhibits are especially impressive. I was disappointed that there was no Hughto-related work in the gift shop.

On the 3rd Thursday of every month a docent led walk will educate you to the lesser known details of the art you are witnessing. The traveling shows are always intriguing, and the ceramics collection is world class.
