The site was very beautiful and interesting to be there, but it was not possible to enter the fortress. Anyway the view was amazing to the New York harbor and the bridgre to Brooklyn. Neighborhood is also worth for having a walk around.

Weed Battery gives you an idea of what soldiering was like during the 1800's. It also shows the strategic importance of New York Harbour.

Take a walk, bike, and enjoy the view. Throw down a blanket and take in the view. Grounds are kept clean. I feel safe exploring the grounds and love to sit right under the VERRAZANO Bridge. Taught my grandkids to ride their bikes at this...More

Fort Wadsworth is a beautiful attraction in Staten Island. I went there for the first time on a class trip and was amazed. Great spot if you re interested in photography, as well as the local history. I highly recommend a visit!

This has a lot of things to do on a low budget. The overlook and the park museum is free and gives you a tour of the Forts, along with the displays they have.

I’m not sure about where you would have a reception. There is a church where you could have a wedding, or you can do like my son did and just get married at the overlook with NYC and the Verrazano bridge in the background.

From the Staten Island Ferry, in St. George, take the S51 to Fort Wadsworth. Only takes 10-15 minutes by bus. Return via same bus. Fort Wadsworth also connects to South Beach/FDR boardwalk through foot path or via same bus... More
