Entrance to the Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art and the Chinese Scholar's Garden is $5. The Snug Harbor grounds are open daily, dawn to dusk. The Chinese Scholar's Garden is open from Tuesday - Sunday, 10am-5pm (last admission at 4:30pm). The Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art is open Wednesday - Sunday, 10am-5pm. The Chinese Scholar’s Garden is a must see. So very peaceful and serine. A truly amazing place and worth the trip.

There is so much happening at Snug Harbor you won't be disappointed. And during quiet times grab a book, pick your favorite garden and just enjoy the sheer beauty of the garden.

It is very difficult to walk because the walkway is broken and uneven. I had great difficulty getting around .

I cannot say enough good things about Snug Harbor for weddings! The atmosphere only embellished the beauty of the wedding! Saturdays weather was beautiful and a perfect time for the outdoors.

If I was a tourist I would be very disappointed . The pond is disgusting green slime water. The Neptune fountain is in dire need of an overhaul. Half the time the water isn't even on. The buildings are in the midst of being overhauled....More

Snug Harbor is a great place to visit. It holds historical value pertaining to our culture and shipping. The place was founded to be a resting place for old seamen who could no longer work. The buildings and grounds are beautiful.

The scholars garden is a wonderful reproduction of a Chinese scholars garden. The childrens museum is a fun place to children to learn and play.
