Kudos to NYS for preserving an historic structure and park-lands. The essence of life in bygone days is evident and the setting allows one to imagine life so many years ago. There are easy-use restrooms and lots of parking. Stretch your legs here while leaf-peeping...More

This was not open for the tour even though hours were posted on the website. Peeked in windows and could see stairs blocked off as well as some rooms.

We went during the 1800's weekend when people were dressed in period costumes and did demonstrations such as spinning yarn and sheering sheep. Children could participate in making candles and there was an old time Punch & Judy puppet show. For the grown ups there...More

Another overlooked piece of history! I am a big fan of the musical Hamilton, and seeing the home of the pivotal romantic interests of the Broadway show was super cool! I was so stoked to learn that the town was named Schuylerville as well. It...More

Gen. Philip Schuyler's country house was hastily rebuilt after it was burned by the British army retreating from the first battlefield of Saratoga. The rebuilt home was visited by George Washington and other VIPs of American history. It is worth seeing.

Nice part of history offering 45 minute walking tour. Guide proudly said George Washington slept here. No picture taking allowed as furniture on-loan. Interesting factoids about Schulyer and his part in the Battle of Saratoga.

This structure is an enlarged farmhouse which was constructed after General Burgoyne burned down the original. For a purist, it does have the original furnishings. However, it is pretty neat nonetheless. Our excellent tour guide showed us each room, and discussed some of the people...More

I visited this historic house today. There is no admission and a free guided tour. While the hours not large, it gives one an idea of a wealthy family 's country house in the 18th century.

The house is only open for tours on Fri-Sun and holidays from 9:00am to 5:00pm between Memorial Day and Labor Day. The house was closed when we visited and I do not remember the cost listed on the sign.
