Trying a paddle board was on my bucket list this summer. The Kayak Shak was helpful and friendly, as well as reasonably priced. I enjoyed my experience. It's a good place to try a paddle board or kayak. If renting a paddle board, come dressed...More
It was our first visit and I decided with this place based on reviews. Scenes are beautiful and place is not overly crowded with water devices. Prices are reasonable with options of renting or bringing your own for fee. We will definitely come back.

Thanks for the sweet words! Come out during the foliage, it's AMAZING!!! ;)
Great prices, staff, nice tables to sit and relax at before or after your ride. Fish Creek is so peaceful. We haven’t ventured down to the lake on our trips to the Shak, I’m sure it’s a little busier. Thanks Kayak Shak!

You are so very welcome! It's our pleasure! Thank you for coming out and saying such sweet words about us! ;) The lake does get busier, but it's still beautiful to head upstream and then get to float back!

So glad you're into coming here for a paddle! We hear you about the weeds. Some years are worse than others... Hope you come back! ;)
The Kayak Shak charges $5 per kayak to launch your own kayak. If you're a family of 5, each with their own kayak, this is very expensive. I offered $10 total which I thought was a reasonable price, but the manager/owner declined. We were planning...More

Thanks for bringing attention to our launch fee! We're actually going to raise it next year in the hopes of encouraging people to launch elsewhere. So glad you found the free city launch, WAY BETTER RIGHT?!?! We just don't have the parking to accommodate private...More
My husband and I rented a double kayak and spent almost 3 hours on the lake. The place is run well and organized. We were happy that we came in early between 9 & 10am and were able to get a double kayak in no...More
