We went for this churches annual strawberry shortcake event in July in the basement meeting room, We toured the main floor church and enjoyed the charming doors at the end of each pew and the beautiful architecture. Apparently the church had a tall steeple which...More

This church is also known as "the whalers church". The original steeple was taller and easier to see than the Montauk light house, so was a landmark for the whaling vessels coming to Sag Harbor. The steeple was victim of a hurricane in 1938, and...More

Just got to visit this beautiful church on a trip to the Hamptons and Sag Harbor. It's an Egyptian revival style wooden building built in 1844. Its worth a visit.

The Whaler's Church is a community fixture from the point of view of it's architecture and of the programs it features. It supports local performers and holiday performances as well as a lovely service.

This is a very cool old church that is now shared between a Christian denomination and a Jewish congregation. How cool is that? Everybody saves on the heating bill. It's right in the heart of Sag Harbor. Put it on your walking tour.

It's not the oldest Presbyterian Church in the US (that's in Southampton), but it has to be "the coolest" and among the most interesting architecturally. Dubbed to have the best Egyptian revival styled facade of any church in the United States, this beautiful 1844 church...More
