We visited the Rochester Science Centre and found it was a bit small and not a lot to do. We have visited many large Science Centres with lots of activities and fascinating exhibits that keep you busy the entire day (ie: Ontario Science Centre in Toronto, Carnegie Science Centre in Pittsburgh, Museum of Science & Technology in Ottawa, etc). After... More

There are some interesting interactive exhibits here, but a lot of it involves walking, looking at stuff, and reading. So younger kids won't get much out of it.

We are kind of science museum geeks, and if there's one in a city that we visit we try to take it in, so we were all over visiting the Rochester Museum and Science Center. We were pleased with our visit. The Musical Electricity demo was the coolest part of the visit but on a rainy afternoon, we found plenty... More

Wish we had more time year but were able to watch a musical electricity demo late in the afternoon. I have to admit I was slightly nervous when our kids volunteered as participants but they thoroughly enjoyed this unique experience.

On a hot, humid day we visited the museum late in the day and also saw a couple shows in the planetarium. Our grandchildren enjoyed exploring and having fun with the various exhibits. The film titled "The Sky Tonight" was a bit long and boring at times, but all of us enjoyed "To Fly!".

We are science and history museum volunteers ourselves, so we go out of our way to visit museums when traveling. We were delighted with this one that has something for everyone. Lots of hands on exhibits (that actually worked) for kids, yet also more serious exhibitions for study, including one on slavery and the underground railroad, native american culture, and... More

Terrific, interactive museum. 10 year old was complaining about going to another museum but he changed his tune as soon as he saw the first exhibit. Wish we lived closer.

Visited the museum and planetarium with my 20-year old son and 14-year old daughter over a recent school break. We were all fascinated by the featured exhibit about frogs, and went to a showing of "The Living Sea" on the planetarium"s domed ceiling. We had a blast--and my kids fondly remembered how many of their childhood hours we spent exploring... More

took the family recently for a few hours. great place for the kids to learn hands on. they kept busy for hours there!! inside there was an earth exhibit showing the different temperatures, climate, weather patterns, etc that was fascinating. so many different opportunities for learning and being interactive. it's not just about playing - you actually can learn things,...
