Walk in the Woods + Stunning View
Dec 2020
Easy hike through the woods with the tower as your destination for incredible panoramic view. This is a short excursion outdoors that is suitable for just about anyone, including kids -- even if you're not up for climbing the stairs at the tower, it's worthwhile.

Tower is worth the hike
Oct 2020 • Solo
Great walk in the fall to enjoy colorful leaves with nice weather. After arriving in the parking lot it’s a short was to a small lake. Nice for a picnic since there is covered seating. A little further is the Steele tower that is worth taking the over 100 steps up. The view is your reward-the Hudson bridge & tree tops is a must see. It rained a few days before & still had a few puddles

Serene nature spot
Sep 2020
Varying levels of hikes for those who want to get out in nature and move around, but nothing overly intense. But if you go, climb up the Fire Tower for a spectacular view all around. Not for anyone afraid of heights, though.

Fun hike in Rhinebeck
Sep 2020
Nice trails through the woods just north of Rhinebeck, New York. Perfect compliment to a day strolling through the town. Trails are not challenging, so it's good for a famly hike, but I would not suggest them for people who are not good on uneven ground. If you are not afraid of heights, try the tower which gives you a great view of the valley (it's off the yellow trail).

Climb the tower!
Aug 2020
Easily marked loop trails. Beautiful and very shaded, older growth forest. The view from the top of the fire tower is woth the climb up. Nice pond to spy turtles and benches, picnic table available to eat a packed lunch.

Ferncliff forest fire tower
Oct 2019 • Couples
The forest has easy to navigate trails and a fire tower with awesome views of the Hudson valley. If you are afraid of heights the trip to the top of the tower can be intimidating but the views are well worth it!

Not a review per se. The pic you have for Ferncliff show real mountains and a bridge but these do not exist in this area-fix the pic 😲

Great view from the tower
Oct 2019
We wanted a Hudson Valley view for the fall colors and we weren’t disappointed once we climbed the tower. If you are looking for a view, the short hike (0.7 miles) to the tower is worth it.

Pleasant Low-Moderate Level Hike.
Sep 2019 • Family
There are three trails of varying distances to chose from, the yellow trail being the shortest. A little less than half way on the yellow trail is a fire watch tower you can climb to the top of. The wire mesh guarding the sides of the stairs is in need of serious repair, but the brave at heart will be rewarded with spectacular views.

The forest is beautiful and refreshing. Along your hike you will spot numerous millipedes scurrying around doing their business. Please mind your step and do not squish! They are a harmless and beneficial insect, after all this is their home.
