Short, easy walk
Mar 2021
Lovely, easy short walk with nice views of the Hudson and peaceful wood trails. Very little elevation. It was quite muddy and slippery when we went due to recent melted snow and rain but we took our time and it was still a great walk.
Parts of the trail are supposedly closed but it was clear that most locals ignored this and completed the loop regardless.

Lovely Area for a Stroll or Hike near the Hudson River
Sep 2020
Poet's Walk Park is a nice area for a hike and to take in views of the Hudson River. The 120-acre park has a blue trail from the parking lot that will take one through open fields surrounded by woods to the Overlook Pavilion with views of the Hudson River. One may follow the yellow trail through the peaceful woods and over a wood and stone bridge. The red trail will lead one through a wooded area along the river with another wood bridge.

Quiet place to linger
Sep 2020
We weren't sure what to expect. The trails are not long. No historic monuments or buildings. But the walk through the meadows and woods to vantage points by the Hudson was relaxing and enjoyable. We sat for a while in two places and listened to the sounds of birds and insects. Nothing else disturbed the silence.
People walk their dogs, their children, even elders, quietly. What a nice break from the noise and craziness.

It Was A Perfect Day
Oct 2019 • Family
We were visiting the area with our daughter and her family and did not want to do anything too strenuous. Our daughter has fond memories of spending time in this park while she attended graduate school. It was a lovely walk on a beautiful fall day.

Nice Moderate Hike with Views of the Hudson
Jul 2019 • Couples
We stumbled upon this as we were enjoying the area. Ample parking in an unpaved lot at the entrance. Half the distance to the end there is a gazebo with what I feel is great views. The first half of the walk is ground stone and more manageable than the second half which is not paved and more terrain. Walking the second half takes you over some small bridges and across water ways (wet stones) which may be challenging for some. The end point after the second half of the path does provide additional views, but I am not certain if they are worth the trek. Plan appropriately depending upon the weather. Proper footwear. Proper hydration. Even a hiking stick if you are not stable on your feet. Enjoy!

Long walk through the fields takes you to a dramatic view of the Hudson River.

This is an easy walk so good for kids, dogs, elderly folks who may be slower walking. Inspirational nature walk with a rich history. Make sure you wear proper footwear and if it's been raining, it will be muddy and sloppy.

Lovely country walk, but watch out for the mud!
Jan 2019 • Family
I visited this free and lovely trail with my parents in-law, wife and son on a clear winter's day. The trail, while almost overly-paved at the beginning, quickly deteriorated, so be sure to take appropriate foodwear, and beware of slipping on the muddy trail. The views of the river and countryside are beautiful, and it is not a difficult walk for members of any generation. There is free parking but the parking lot is locked at 6pm so do plan your visit carefully.

Beautiful stroll
Dec 2018 • Friends
Great stroll 2.5 miles with amazing views of the Hudson. We happened to go on a day that was very muddy so I would recommend hiking boots and avoid wearing white shoe wear.
