Visited recently for a walk with my wife and was pleasantly surprised by the overall size of this location tucked into the space. Though an easy outting, with regards to hiking, the trails were far from flat and the scenery was beautiful.

Although Samuel F. B. Morse once owned & lived at this house, it's the Young family that gave this magnificent treasure to Poughkeepsie. Unlike most mansion tours, visitors get a true experience because 25 rooms can be viewed on the one hour tour. The docents...More

I go to Locust Grove in mid-March for an event. The Robert Morse gallery is very good, worth stopping if you are driving on Route 9 and you have half an hour to spend. The art on the walls outside of the main gallery can...More

I love visiting this historic site in Dutchess County in Poughkeepsie, NY. The beautiful grounds and the unique architecture of the site buildings including the gardens and plantings all combine in a feeling, for me, of being in a retreat setting - yet just steps...More

Enjoyed having a place to walk while working in Poughkeepsie and especially enjoyed the river views. The gardens were done when I visited and I did not take the house tour. Appreciated access to restrooms and the gift shop.

Another great Hudson River Valley house tour just south of Poughkeepsie that was home to the Morse and Young family. After leaving the crowded highway, you are transported into another world. They have a large paved parking lot and one of the best visitor’s centers...More

Is the Estate available for rental Christmas parties? I would be interested in having a company Chirstmas party in this unique setting. Shelley
