Small beach community is very insular but interesting. Get an off season rental if you can and enjoy the ocean and surrounding areas without the crowds or summer heat. Great place to write a book or get away from it all.

This beach on Long Island south shore is one the best around Great sand to walk up and down the beach and watch the surfers and boggy boarders! Great sunsets

Point lookout has a 15 mph law for cars because kids rule here. The town is a quaint throw back to a slower way of life. Everyone knows each other here, kids are safe to roam free, neighbors watch out for each other. Great community....More
