Very easy hike, all flat, no elevations. From Penn Yan the trail travels through the town for the first few miles, then it gets more quiet. The path is quite busy with hikers, bikers and joggers. Don’t expect any wildlife except for a groundhog or...More

we only hiked part of the trail, but enjoyed the walk with a turtle pond, an old mill, waterfalls, and remnants of a lock.

Loved the trail. Easy parking at clearly marked signs starting on the keuka side. Cool things to see all along trail. Trail is a little rough, but i used a road bike with tread and was fine. Hybrid would be better.

The trail is easy to access from many different parking lots. The water is wonderful to listen to as you hike.

Parts of the trail are paved but much is dirt or gravel. I'd stick with mountain bike or hybrid.

You can fish along the Outlet Trail with a valid NYS Fishing Lucense. It's not used for boats. If you want to fish from a boat, you can do so on either one of the lakes connected by the Outlet Trail (Keuka and Seneca).
