This is absolutely one of the most beautiful places for cross county skiing and worth the drive. There are no crowds and the views are memorable. They also make outstanding maple syrup and you can adopt a tree. A great experience.

My wife and I discovered snowshoeing here a few years ago, it is a wonderful place for a leisurely hike, very convenient to White Pine Camp.

Went for a snowshoe hike over New Year's Eve. We have visited this center several times summer and winter. Make sure you bring your snowshoes or cross country skis they do not allow walkers without them on the trails in the winter and they no longer rent them there. It was a beautiful day we ran across 5 people the... More

The trails were not well marked.. I heard after my experience that others have gotten lost there. There really needs to be more signage. Maps on trees or post...saying you are here, with trail names. Arrows showing...this way to the VIC center, etc.

Ladies at desk were very helpful. We enjoyed a nice hike. Color coded trails, map makes sense, some of the trail signs were confusing, but we figured it out. Great trails, great views. Wish we would have run into a little more wildlife, but we spotted a woodpecker. Looking forward to coming back & seeking out future adventures!

Our group of six friends lived our canoe tour of Barnum Brook and Pond. Both the history of the area and the plants and wildlife were well addressed by our guides. We even received needed tutorials in canoeing! A terrific two hour experience for families and friends.

Visit the butterfly house. The paths would also be fun to wander. If your expectations are right, this is a good place to visit.

Great trails of varying length and difficulty of terrain with excellent center to start and friendly staff from Paul Smith's College or local students home for the summer. Easy to walk with children and also has a wheel chair accessible trail. Added to our Adirondack experience. Pretty ride to get there too from Saranac Lake.
