High on the mountain road, with dark trees hanging over the road, and switchbacks that need attention despite being distracted by scenery of the Susquehanna valley... DOA was a great stop on an impromptu nature trip. The birds and deer know it's up there... and...More

This is a nice place to walk with the family, there are no large hills. Find your quiet place if you are by yourself. It's in our back yard, but not many people go here. It's a well kept secret!

Not easy to find but easy to find if you use a map. There are numerous trails on the property but they all seems to go in a circle and lead back to wherever you started so I doubt you can easily get lost. In...More

One of my favorite places in Oneonta. Very peaceful. Varying terrains from the bog, to the fields, to the pine forest and more. Great paths around mountain for short hikes. The top of the hawk watch has beautiful views of Oneonta.

Several yrs. ago in Nov. we hiked up the hill to meet the avid eagle watchers. They were tallying the # of Golden eagles migrating south. It was fascinating & exciting. There are several trails to follow there as well. One path includes board walks...More

Another great place for a walk/hike convenient to Oneonta. It contains a serious birding observation post, but if you're not into birds, there's also the best long view available anywhere near Oneonta. Come on a clear day and the view will be worth th climb...More

Convenient to Oneonta. Well-marked trails, some moderate up-hill parts, location for bird-watching, pond with small observation deck. Difficult to find entrance, you will have to ask a local or go to the Otsego/Delaware Audubon Society website to find help.

There are plenty of vistas to view migrating birds here - many Delaware-Otsego Audubon Society members log and keep track of the number of migrating raptors. 100 acres of hiking trails though wetlands, forest and meadows give the enthusiast plenty of places to spend time...More
