Thanks to Dan Tickner, we had a perfect day on the Moose River. With gorgeous autumn weather on a weekday in the first week of October, we had the river to ourselves, ambling down the Moose with the current. We had only planned for the...More

Thank you so much! Your advice is right on. Some people like to paddle straight through, where as we like to take our time and swim and picnic!

This is not as easy as other reviews and the operators would suggest, and I would caution those inexperienced with small watercraft or who are not sufficiently fit to haul a large, heavy canoe a long distance to think twice. My husband and I rented...More

We are glad to hear you enjoyed our River and Rail trip. The water was high, as the dam in town was open. We do caution our paddlers when this happens. They have since closed the dam, so the water is receding.

We are not offering the River and Rail trip this fall. We do have the 4 hour North Street Bridge trip, which is a 71/2 mile paddle down stream. We drop you off at the bridge and you paddle back to Tickner's.

We have been down the river 3 times and at this point in time, the black flies aren't so much as a problem as the mosquitoes. Once we put on the bug spray we were OK.
