Well worth a visit. Marvel at the building - how did they get all the stone up the steep hill in olden times and the outside most wall is very impressive.

It's a beautiful castle on the hill, in the village with fantastic views. We thought €5 was really good value but once inside it was clear that you couldn't really charge more as there wasn't loads to look at. They have a really good exhibition...More

If your interested in old buildings/castles this is a must-see. Situated on a hill with a marvellous view in a very pitoresque village with restaurants and cafés.

I had the pleasure of coming here during the medieval market, and it was lovely. The dressed up participants made history come alive and made the visit all the more wonderful. The caste itself is beautiful. The fading interior is absolutely gorgeous and I could...More

High on the hill, this attraction offers incomparable views of the surrounding countryside. The castle tour is well worthwhile.

We drove to Chateauneuf having left Abbaye de la Bussiere and keen to see the castle that sits imposingly at the top of the hill. Unfortunately for us we arrived just as it was closing for lunch. After being told that we could not visit...More

We got there about 30 minutes before the lunch break, but they would not let us buy tickets until after lunch... 2 hours in the future. We heard it was nice... we didn't take the time to wait around.

We enjoyed our visit to this chateau, particularly the medieval part. The rooms decorated in 18th century style seemed a bit out of place. There are some good displays to explain the history of the chateau. Clearly much more work is required to show this ancient...More

Not in the village centre I don't think but there's a large car park a few hundred metres from the centre and it's then a flat walk, but in the village some of the streets might be difficult for a disabled person.

We visited Chateauneuf-en-Auxois this past summer but had a rental car. The area is very rural. Have you checked with the tourist bureau in Dijon or Beune to see if they can give you some info? Visiting this town was... More
